Jan 2, 2017, a fresh start. There is so much unknown about this new year. Although we do not know what our world has in store for us, for me, the beginning of a new year is always a personal celebration of rebirth and renewal. At this time I can choose how I want to live the next twelve months and what I want to accomplish. My personal goals are simple: be a good parent, be a good spouse, be a good human being, sell a book, and most of all, continue to put forth positive energy and understanding–even when I don’t want to.
The last, putting forth only positive energy, was the only thing I chose to do for 2016. It was all I could do to muster any enthusiasm for a new year and yet with that small change, I know changed my life. It’s not easy to do, yet is ever so important in order to feel complete and satisfied with one’s own self.
Once I started looking for the positive in every situation, I found the ability to see other people’s negativity, anger, and frustration and did not allow it to pepper my life. In fact, I felt sorry for them and moved on.
So here is to a fresh start for a shiny New Year. One that I hope fills you with the ability to choose good, to cherish your family and friends, and the ability to be positive to others and to your own self.
